State Senator Denise Harper Angel Joins Jefferson County Delegation
In Cross County Tour to Present Budget Funds
State Senator Denise Harper Angel joined other Jefferson County legislators in a cross-county tour on March 31 to distribute ceremonial checks to key community organizations that have received funding in the 2005 Kentucky State Budget.
"This budget made critical investments in Louisville and Jefferson County," said State Senator Denise Harper Angel. Sen. Harper Angel serves on the Senate Appropriations and Revenue Committee.
The schedule of check presentations included:
¥ Goodwill Industries, 907 E. Broadway (tax credit funding up to $500,000)
¥ The Louisville Science Center, 727 W. Main Street ($700,000)
¥ Families and Children First, 703 South 31st Street ($100,000 homelessness
prevention pilot project)
¥ Jefferson County Community College, Hartford Building ($600,000)
¥ Kentucky Center for the Arts ($1.844 million)
¥ Louisville Waterfront Development Corp. Headquarters
($420,000, 2004-05; $420,000, 2005- 06)
¥ Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center, Administrative Offices, ($55 million,
design and renovation East Wing/Hall)
¥ Louisville Zoo ($750,000)
¥ Tom Sawyer State Park ($400,000 roof repair; $600,000 tennis court renovation)
¥ Heritage Creek City Hall, 8710 Destiny Cove ($5 million, resident relocation, airport).
