Senator Harper Angel Named to Regional Legislation Committee

June 13, 2005, FRANKFORT - Senator Denise Harper Angel, D-Louisville, has been appointed to a regional committee by Senate President David Williams, R-Burkesville.

Appointment to the Fiscal Affairs and Government Operations Committee for the Southern Legislative Conference provides opportunities for legislators to share concerns with their counterparts in other states. The organization also offers ample research resources for comparing trends and practices among states.

“I am certain that this appointment provides me with a venue to gain new ideas and access to information that can help my District,” said Harper Angel, who also serves on the State Legislature’s Appropriations and Revenue Committee. “Also, I will have an opportunity to express the concerns I hear on Main Street to people who are influential at the national level.”
