Senator Harper Angel Offers Support to Caregivers
LOUISVILLE - Senator Denise Harper Angel, D-Louisville, attended the Community Alternatives Kentucky (CAKY) Louisville Staff Appreciation Celebration Wednesday at George Rogers Clark Park to help recognize direct support professionals (DSPs).
Harper Angel attended in support of the push for a national policy to address workforce shortages and the need for additional funds for these workers who undertake the daily responsibilities of caring for people with disabilities.
"It takes a special individual to commit to caring for individuals with developmental disabilities. You are the individuals that truly make the world a better place to work and live," Harper Angel said before presenting the group a State Senate Citation.
CAKY is part of the ResCare family of companies offering a complete range of community services for people with disabilities including staffed residences, case management, adult day programs, family home providers, respite care, community living support and supported employment.
